The Ent Center for the Arts is a 92,000 square-foot building that features four performing arts venues and a visual arts gallery.

The professional arts programs that are run through the Ent Center start with UCCS Presents, which manages and handles all productions that occur in the Ent Center. This is also a great place for student employment, as students can work at the front desk, or as ushers.

Another arts program run through the Ent Center is the artist and prologue series. These are world-renowned artists from every field that UCCS brings in to have open discussions and masterclasses. These are wonderful opportunities for students majoring in the specific class and those who simply have a general interest.

The Ent Center also contains TheatreWorks, a professional theatre company that runs a full season at the Ent Center. All shows put on by either TheatreWorks or the UCCS Theatre Company are free to students. This allows a wonderful chance for students to get their artistic fill while still on campus.

Apart from venues, the Ent Centers contains the VAPA majors, VAPA standing for Visual and Performing arts. The 3 departments are the Music Program, Theatre Program, and Dance Program. Each of these departments has specific majors housed within such as acting, technical theatre, musical theatre, vocal performance, instrumental performance and many many more.

Ent Center has six areas for performance. Firstly, the Shockley Zalabak Theater, with 757 Seats, is the largest venue in the Ent Center for the Arts. The space contains a full mezzanine. It is a phenomenal performance space for all TheatreWorks productions and Artist Series dance shows.

Next, the Chapman Foundations Recital Hall is an intimate gem, one of the highest quality acoustic spaces in the state of Colorado. Seating 230, the compelling beauty and technical grandeur of the hall provide artists and audiences alike with an unparalleled experience.

The Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater is a supremely flexible black box theater, which is able to reach a capacity of over 200 seats. With the ability to present theatre in an ever-changing, intimate, and creative environment, audiences are sure to be delighted by Theatreworks’ and student-directed shows alike.

The Marie Walsh Sharpe Gallery was designed as a flexible and transformable museum-quality exhibition space. This 2,600 square foot white cube gallery is state-of-the-art. The gallery's flooring system and a grid of strong points in the ceiling can accommodate art installations in nearly any configuration. It is also known as GOCA (Gallery of Contemporary Art)

Next, the Overlook Studio is a state-of-the-art dance studio that overlooks the beautiful Rocky Mountains. All of the dance classes are taught here. The Artist Aeries will also have master dance classes in the studio which are open to all students.

Finally, the Osborne Theatre is another black box theatre with a plethora of possible formats for performance. Most of the student and faculty-directed shows utilize this wonderful space.

There are many other classrooms, rehearsal spaces, balconies for lounging, and areas for rest and recreation. The Ent Center is a comprehensive powerhouse of the performing arts and is sure to amaze and entertain you for years to come.
