Photo Feature: Division of DEI One-Year Celebration
The inaugural Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion celebrated one year as a division this spring. On May 24 they celebrated their first year honoring UCCS’ commitment to DEI, thanking campus partners, departments, colleges and divisions for their work in creating authentic change, and to create a space of reflection and vision moving into the next academic year.
Staff, faculty, and community members gathered at the Ent Center for the Arts for great food, connection, and conversation. Vice Chancellor Rame Hanna spoke at the event thanking everyone for their support and partnerships this past year.
Vice Chancellor Hanna, reflecting on the celebration, stated, “I am grateful to all those who were able to join us, in person and in spirit, to celebrate an incredible first year in the founding of our inaugural Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. It was through your voices and actions that have uplifted and empowered us to create more intentional dialogues for greater access and equity. Change efforts that are deeply connected to our core values take a village to actualize! We are overjoyed by the many wonderful collaborations and partnerships and for your commitment to fostering an inclusive campus culture of belonging!”
