According to the Spring 2025 tuition fees factsheet, tuition for freshmen and sophomore students ranges from $344 per credit for in-state residents to $935 per credit for out-of-state students.
The average three-credit class will cost a lower-classman between $1,032 and $2,805 per semester depending on their residency status. Students must take at least 12 credit hours to be considered a full-time student at UCCS. The total semester tuition rate for a full-time student taking 12 credit hours is $4,126 for in-state students, and $11,220 for out-of-state students.
There are 16 weeks in a semester, meaning one three-credit course costs an in-state student approximately $64.50 per class, and an out-of-state student approximately $175.31 per class.

The college with the most expensive tuition rate is the Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences, which costs Colorado residents approximately $1,386 per three-credit-hour course, and non-residents $3,024.
Tuition in the College of Business and the College of Engineering costs approximately $3,024 for non-residents, but is $114 cheaper for in-state students, costing approximately $1,272 per three-credit-hour course.
The colleges with the cheapest tuition rates are the College of Education, the College of Public Affairs and the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences (LAS), costing Colorado residents $1,120 per three-credit-hour course, and non-residents $2,922.

The tuition for full-time Colorado residents is less than full-time non-residents, with non-resident students paying approximately $7,000 more per semester across each academic college.

With 16 weeks in a semester, the average price of each session of a three-credit course for an upper-classmen Colorado resident is between $70 and $86.62, depending on academic college. The average price of each session of a three-credit course for non-Coloradan students is between $182.63 and $189 depending on academic college.
Freshman game design major Lathen Robinson said he occasionally skips classes to catch up on homework. Freshman sports science major Jacob Romero said he has also skipped to catch up in classes he is falling behind in or to prioritize his mental health.
Tuition at UCCS is based on credit hours per class. Tuition costs can fluctuate based on factors like the location of the lecture to a student’s class standing. Online course tuition varies depending on the layout and structure of a course.
